Dropped by to try out this cafe which has all things taro~ Tried the Einspanner and Taro Crepe cake. Neither were impressive.
Einspanner 3/5 - Taro foam layer on top was tasteless, but the taro bits at the bottom went well with the coffee
Taro crepe cake 1/5 - Really not impressed. TBH, the cream had light taro fragrance and taste which was not bad, but the crepe layers itself were so thick that I couldn’t taste the taro in this dish. Don’t recommend this item!
The coffee beans need review by the owner. Lady at the counter do note that it's a service industry, counter service could have been better. Had ordered two coffees that had been served without stirrer. Only upon request did it appear. Chiller Cake wasn't looking appealing and not the least good looking but upsetting feel. Thus, reluctant to order.
Overall ambience is girlish and modern. And only came to curb the caffeine craving urge.
First time trying Orh Nee based cake and cheesecake, simply delicious and unique. Was impressed with the cake quality and the relaxing atmosphere to chill on a sunny afternoon.
We tried taromisu and taro burnt cheesecake, highly recommended.
I visited this taro cafe twice and I must say it’s one of the best cafes in Kallang. The coffee is smooth and aromatic, the pastries are fresh and delicious, and the ambience is cozy and relaxing. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the prices are reasonable. I especially love their signature taro latte and taro misu, which are rich and creamy with real taro bits. The cafe is also spacious and well-decorated, with plenty of natural light.
Really delicious Taromisu!! 😋 A unique kind of tiramisu using taro & it's not overly sweet! Cafe was not crowded at all during weekday nights! Staff were very friendly too! Will go back again 😊
Orhni tarts are THE bomb! My second year having it now! Mochi swiss roll was dense so I loved it personally preference! Not a mega fan of cream so glad there wasn’t toooo much of it and tried the crepe it was ok! Loved the taro filling inside but it was like orhni/cream/cream in that sequence so not as rich as I would have preferred. Still great!
Unfortunately, as a taro lover, I did not get the online hype of this place 😐 The pound cake was extremely dry and hard, felt like it had been baked and left for days. It was also served in a cling wrap, which further makes it look like it was from days ago. Crepe cake layers was so thick and barely any cream in between. Good thing was that water is provided in this cafe.
Heaven for taro lovers. All the items are taro related.
Tried the Swiss roll, the sponge cake and the mocha in the middle is not that soft, taro fillings not much. But good thing is it is not too sweet.
The cheese cake is more flavourful, and the middle layer of taro is good.
The environment is very clean and not noisy.
Offer free water.
